Rangdum Gonpa Cultural and Welfare Society
Rangdum Gompa Cultural and Welfare Society, the association officially recognized by the state of India which founded and manages the school, is our interlocutor in Leh (the city closest to Rangdum–or at least, the least distant one at only 2 days’ journey away). Together with their unstoppable secretary, Tsering Tashi, we are defining objectives and fine-tuning projects for the school’s future.
All of the school’s expenses are documented and registered along with its income, and the balance is certified each year. In this way, the association is authorized by the central government and can continue to manage the school and receive donations from abroad.
It is very important both for us and for them that every financial operation be clear and transparent so that we can all be secure in the knowledge that the donations are being used exactly as they should be. Nobody wants any “stains” on the school’s accounts.
Tsering Tashi is very scrupulous because he knows that the future of the school to which he and Lama Tenzin have dedicated their lives depends on the honesty and good behavior of its economic management. The future of Rangdum relies upon the careful and transparent management of its financial resources.
